Terms of Service — Steel Rain
By using Steel Rain ("the App"), you agree to these terms. The App is operated by FistWorld Authentix, Incorporated ("we," "us," "our"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. What the App is
Steel Rain is a training and study aid for forward observers (MOS 13F and equivalents). It teaches the call-for-fire format, mils math, OT-line corrections, target identification, and related fire-support skills using publicly-available unclassified doctrine (FM 3-09, ATP 3-09.30, TC 3-09.81, MCRP 3-31.6, JP 3-09, FM 670-1, JFIRE, CALL handbooks).
The App simulates fire missions on synthetic maps with synthetic targets. Adjustment math, dispersion, and effects-radius values are training-grade approximations.
2. What the App is NOT
- Not authorized for operational fire support. Calls and corrections you make in the App are practice. Do not use the App on a live mission. Do not transmit values from the App to a real Fire Direction Center.
- Not classified. No classified material, no operational data, no live ballistic tables. Everything in the App is sourced from publicly available doctrine.
- Not affiliated with the U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps, or any other military service. This is an independent training aid built by veterans / current servicemembers for educational use.
3. Acceptable use
You may use the App for personal training, study, and instruction. You may use the App as supplementary material in unit training, classroom instruction, or self-study. You may discuss the App and share screenshots / clips for training purposes.
You may NOT:
- Use the App to coordinate or simulate real-world targeting against real people, locations, or structures
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the App or any of its assets
- Use any part of the App's brand, logos, or training content in another app or product without our permission
4. Doctrinal accuracy
We make a good-faith effort to teach doctrinally-correct procedures based on the publicly-available manuals cited above. However:
- Doctrine evolves. The App may reflect older versions of a given publication; verify with current doctrine before applying anything in the field.
- Effects-radius, dispersion, RED, and similar values in the App are unclassified training-grade approximations, not the values used by an actual FDC.
- If you spot a doctrinal error, report it via Settings → Report a problem. We will correct it in a future update.
Final authority on doctrine for any operational use is your unit's SOP and the current published manual, not this App.
5. No warranty
The App is provided "as is." We make no warranty of fitness for any particular purpose, including (especially) operational fire support. We are not liable for any harm arising from misuse of the App.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the App is limited to the amount you paid us for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim, or USD $50, whichever is greater. The App is currently free.
7. Privacy
Your privacy is governed by the Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. The short version: we collect almost nothing, almost nothing leaves your device, and we never sell your data.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the App evolves. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. Material changes will be announced in-app on next launch. Continued use of the App after the change constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
9. Termination
You can stop using the App at any time. Reset your account from Settings → Sign out, or uninstall.
We can suspend or terminate access to the App if you violate these Terms — but practically, since the App runs on your device with no backend, "termination" mostly means: we may decline to provide updates or support.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of North Carolina, USA. Any dispute arising from your use of the App will be resolved in the state and federal courts of North Carolina (state and federal courts).

12. Acknowledgments
Steel Rain stands on the shoulders of:
- The 13F community — past, present, and future. The MOS that puts steel on target.
- The doctrine writers at Fort Sill and the publishers of every unclassified FM, ATP, TC, and CALL handbook the App draws from.
- Open-source contributors to React Native, Expo, react-native-skia, Zustand, expo-router, expo-speech-recognition, and the broader RN ecosystem.
