Privacy Policy — Steel Rain

Effective: May 5, 2026 (closed beta)
Last updated: May 5, 2026

This privacy policy covers Steel Rain ("the App"), a forward-observer training application. The App is operated by FistWorld Authentix, Incorporated ("we," "us," "our"), based in North Carolina, USA.

If you are reading this because you're about to install the App or sign up for our mailing list, the short version is: we collect almost nothing, we never sell your data, and most of what the App stores about you lives only on your device.

1. What we collect

1.1 On-device only (never leaves your device)

When you register at first launch, the App stores the following on your device, in a local SQLite database:

This data does not leave your device. We have no backend, no analytics pipeline, no cloud sync for any of the above. If you delete the App, it's gone. If you "Sign out / reset account" from Settings, it's gone immediately.

1.2 Optional — only if you opt in to the mailing list

In Settings → Mailing list you can subscribe to product updates by providing an email address. If and only if you subscribe:

are stored on your device and, when our email infrastructure is active, transmitted to our email service provider (currently Loops.so) for the sole purpose of sending you product updates and announcements about related apps in our portfolio.

You can unsubscribe any time from Settings → Mailing list → UNSUBSCRIBE, or from any email we send you.

1.3 Crash and bug reports

The App keeps a local rolling log of the last 20 crashes / errors so you can report bugs from Settings → Report a problem. You initiate that report — it opens an email draft addressed to the developer with the diagnostic log included. If you don't tap Send, nothing is transmitted.

We may, at our discretion, add a third-party crash-reporting service (such as Sentry) before public launch to capture crash data automatically. If we do, this Privacy Policy will be updated, the App will surface a notice, and the data captured will be limited to: device model, OS version, App version, redacted stack traces, and an anonymous installation ID. No name, email, alias, mission data, or training progression is included in crash reports.

1.4 What we never collect

2. How we use what we collect

We do not:

3. Data retention

4. Children

The App is intended for adults studying military fire-support doctrine. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it immediately.

5. Your rights

Wherever you live, you can:

If you live in the EU/UK (GDPR), California (CCPA), or another jurisdiction with specific data rights, the same options apply and we honor them in full. We will respond to data requests within 30 days.

6. Security

On-device data is protected by the operating system's app sandbox (iOS Data Protection / Android app-private storage). When mailing- list data is transmitted to our email service provider, it is sent over HTTPS to a third party that maintains its own security standards.

7. Third parties

We do not embed advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or social-media SDKs.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App evolves. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the current version. Material changes (new data collection, new third parties) will be announced in-app on next launch.
